from the ashes of mask Autotistic rose as a noise sensation of pure
guitar abuse. Autotistic's first concert went down massive as they say in DJ circles. The 30 min. set left most of the audience puzzled if not a bit relieved when it was all over. The intended vocals did not materialise due to a bad case of nerves, but the unorthodox guitar and kitchen utensil usage held them captivated in fields of roaring feedback. Unfortunately there was no recording of the live set but I recorded a 36 min session of similar and diverse material that afternoon with Mr. Olivetti as our contribution to Music Live, the neighbours are still clinging to those paracetamol packets. This is available on CD or 45 min tape . Autotistic has entered the digital arena of late pushing technology to the limits to produce tortured soundscapes and distressed tunes cumulating in the release of Grist CD. This CD contains well over 65mins of avant-experimentalism and trawls from ambient to distorted speaker overload… Check the sound section for a audio taster... |
